Overview

HealthSpan Panel

Provides a comprehensive assessment of your metabolic, cardiovascular, inflammatory, and nutritional health markers. By evaluating these biomarkers together, we can identify early signs of disease risk, uncover potential nutrient deficiencies, and gain insight into factors that influence long-term health, energy, cognition, and healthy aging. The results help us create a personalized plan focused on prevention, optimizing health, and reducing future disease risk.

Metabolic Markers

  • Metabolic Markers

    Fasting Insulin

Helps identify early insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction. Higher fasting insulin can occur before fasting glucose or A1c become abnormal.

  • Metabolic Markers

    Fasting Glucose

Measures blood sugar at the time of the draw and helps assess glucose regulation, prediabetes, and diabetes risk.

  • Metabolic Markers

    Hemoglobin A1c

Estimates average blood sugar exposure over approximately 2 to 3 months and helps screen for or monitor prediabetes and diabetes.

Lipid Panel

  • Lipid Panel

    Total Cholesterol

Represents the total amount of cholesterol carried in the blood. It is interpreted with HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and overall cardiovascular risk.

  • Lipid Panel

    HDL Cholesterol

Measures cholesterol carried by HDL particles. Higher values are often associated with lower cardiovascular risk, but results require clinical context.

  • Lipid Panel

    Triglycerides

Measures circulating fats that can rise after eating. Elevated levels can be associated with cardiometabolic risk and insulin resistance.

  • Lipid Panel

    LDL Cholesterol

Estimates or measures cholesterol carried by LDL particles, which can contribute to plaque formation in arteries.

Lipoproteins

  • Lipoproteins

    Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)

Estimates the number of atherogenic lipoprotein particles, including LDL and other plaque-forming particles. It can refine cardiovascular risk beyond LDL cholesterol alone.

  • Lipoproteins

    Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]

Measures a largely inherited lipoprotein associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular and aortic valve disease risk. It adds information that is not captured by a standard lipid panel.

Inflammation

  • Inflammation

    Homocysteine

Measures an amino acid influenced by vitamin B12, folate, vitamin B6, kidney function, genetics, and other factors. It can support evaluation of B12 or folate deficiency.

  • Inflammation

    High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP)

Measures low-grade systemic inflammation and can help refine cardiovascular risk when interpreted in the appropriate clinical setting.

Thyroid Health

  • Thyroid Health

    Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

Screens thyroid function and reflects signaling between the pituitary gland and thyroid. Thyroid changes can affect energy, metabolism, temperature regulation, and mood.

Liver Function

  • Liver Function

    ALT

A liver-associated enzyme used to assess hepatocellular irritation or injury. Results are interpreted with AST and other liver markers.

  • Liver Function

    AST

An enzyme found in liver, muscle, and other tissues. It helps assess liver health but can also rise after muscle injury or strenuous exercise.

Kidney Function

  • Kidney Function

    Creatinine

Measures a muscle metabolism waste product used to estimate kidney filtration. Results can be influenced by muscle mass and recent activity.

  • Kidney Function

    eGFR - Creatinine

Estimates kidney filtration using serum creatinine and demographic variables. It is used to screen and monitor kidney function.

Micronutrient Evaluation

  • Micronutrient Evaluation

    Omega-3 Index / OmegaCheck

Reflects the proportion of omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cell membranes and provides information about longer-term omega-3 status.

  • Micronutrient Evaluation

    Vitamin D

Measures vitamin D status, usually as 25-hydroxyvitamin D, to support assessment of bone, muscle, and overall health.

  • Micronutrient Evaluation

    Vitamin B12

Measures circulating vitamin B12, which supports red blood cell production and neurologic function. Results may be interpreted with methylmalonic acid or homocysteine when deficiency is uncertain.

Blood / Anemia

  • Blood / Anemia

    Hemoglobin

Measures the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. Low values may suggest anemia; high values can occur with dehydration or other conditions.

  • Blood / Anemia

    Hematocrit

Measures the proportion of blood made up of red blood cells and helps assess anemia, dehydration, and other blood conditions.

  • Blood / Anemia

    Ferritin

Reflects stored iron and is useful when assessing iron deficiency or overload. Ferritin can also increase with inflammation or illness.

  • Blood / Anemia

    Iron

Measures circulating serum iron and helps evaluate iron deficiency or overload when interpreted with ferritin, TIBC, and transferrin saturation.
